UIA Databases in New Drupal Interface

The UIA has been busy migrating our databases to a new interface in Drupal. Why? It's faster, easier to work with and provides more flexibility to implement new tools in the future.

Several types of our users (typically Standard Associate Members using ICCO and Premium Associate Members that use both International Congress Calendar Online and a new UIA's version of Yearbook of International Organizations Online) already have access to the new database interface. If you are one of them, your organization's contact person has already received an e-mail about it. (If you cannot locate your new login details, or if you need any other information in this regard, please don't hesitate to contact us!)
Improved features
- a fresh new look, including maps showing the location of organization headquarters and member countries
- easier to use, with added help functionality
- increased speed
- improved search via added search fields, and increased speed when searching in multiple fields
- sorting of search results by various criteria
- CSV export of up to 100 search results
- more frequent updates
- inclusion of a feedback form to provide comments and suggestions
- simultaneous access for multiple users
- unlimited session time (session expiration after no activity has been removed)
- ability to create customized interfaces tailored to a user's needs
New tools and improvements will be regularly added and announced on this webpage.
Have there been changes to the content of the databases?
The databases continue to provide the same extensive coverage of international organizations and their events. Access to different elements of the database depends on the user's subscription.
A brief reminder of what is included in all of UIA's databases:
- detailed profiles of 65184 international associations (about 35,000 currently active, and 25,000 inactive)
- biographies of 24116 association officers
- 50069 bibliography entries
- 360100 events (past and future) organized by international associations, including an average of 12,000 new events each year
- statistics and visualizations on international associations and meetings activity
