Orders of angelic awareness (Judaism)

 Seraphim

Description
This mode of awareness, under the name of seraphim, is represented as placed before the divine throne of glory and characterized as the consciousness of the universal force of fiery-love and its light. Under the name of hayyoth these angels are said to be found in the seventh heaven, although a lower class of hayyoth are considered equivalent to the cherubim. The hayyoth are the camp or company of the shekinah who receive the holy effluence from above and disseminate it to the "movers of the cosmic wheels" below. The force of this level of consciousness is said to uphold the universe and support the throne of glory. The first order of angelic intelligence is characterized by the qualities ascribed variously to the personifications called: Michael, Satan (before his fall), Metatron, and sometimes, Uriel
