Publications
One the aims and objectives of the UIA is to collect, research and disseminate information on international civil society, in order to contribute to a world order based on human dignity, solidarity and freedom of information. To this end, the UIA has been publishing works detailing the activities of such bodies for over a century. Below are the titles and descriptions of some of our main publications, both past and present. You can also read selected reviews of UIA publications.
Yearbook of International Organizations
Unchallenged in this field of reference since 1910, the Yearbook of International Organizations provides the most extensive coverage of non-profit international organizations available today. Directly reflecting a dynamic international arena, it contains entries on 60,000 civil society organizations in 300 countries and territories, in every field of human endeavour. [Read more]
International Congress Calendar
The International Congress Calendar is the most comprehensive source of information on past and future international meetings organized or sponsored by international organizations. The entire database contains almost 250,000 events dating from 1986, and over 15,000 future events are included every year. [Read more]
Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potential
The Encyclopedia is an ambitious effort to collect information on the global problems facing humanity. It aims to map the connections between problems to identify 'problem cycles'. Strategies that focus on only one problem in a chain tend to fail, but identifying vicious cycles is a first step to designing strategies that reverse or break them. [Read more]
Meetings Statistics Annual Report
For more than 50 years, the UIA has undertaken a comprehensive analysis of the preceding year's meetings activity of international organizations and associations. [Read more]
Transnational Associations Journal
Transnational Associations is a bilingual journal (English and French) dealing with major current problems and interests of international civil society. Its approach is interdisciplinary and addresses social organization, economic development and scientific cooperation. [Read more]
World Guide to Logotypes, Emblems and Trademarks of International Organizations
The Yearbook of International Organizations describes international organizations in words; the World Guide to Logotypes presents the pictorial side. The logos of 4300 organizations are shown, from IGOs to amateur sport associations. It includes logos of every shape, size, colour and subject, with original and evocative designs, to the more ambiguous. [Read more]
