Use of acronyms of organization titles in the Yearbook?
We are often asked, why can't the acronym appear first, before the title, instead of at the end of the title and in ordinary characters, in brackets?
Which country and territory names are used in the Yearbook?
The geographical names used in the Yearbook of International Organizations are chosen for the sake of brevity and common usage. Wherever possible, the country (or territory) name preferred by the organization concerned is used, providing this is possible within the limits of standardization required for mailing or statistical purposes.
