Frequently Asked Questions - sources

Please refer to this full guide on filling out your proof, which reflects questions frequently posed to us. For additional queries not covered here, please contact us directly. Remember that inclusion of an organization description in the Yearbook of International Organizations is free of charge, cost or obligation, and implies no affiliation or other relationship.
You may have information that you wish to make the editors of the Yearbook aware of, including but not limited to: new international organizations, conference series or treaties that you would like to see included; and amendments or additions to current profiles.
Because an organization's view of itself has been given priority, and because secondary sources confirming this view are not always available or reliable, the editors cannot take responsibility for any resulting inaccuracies in the information presented. The editors apologize for any inconvenience this might cause the user.
Compiling the descriptions of organizations in the Yearbook of International Organizations involves a year-round process of research and editing. Proofs of descriptions are sent out by post, email and fax for the organizations themselves to correct with the latest information and changes.
We feel that this should not be viewed as a burden. Many organizations are anxious to see the proofs of their descriptions and those of their related bodies, both to correct any errors and to add supplementary information.
