Customized services data selection criteria

The purpose of the following is to provide an overview of the different criteria used while defining selections of UIA data. These data selections provide the content to be included with one of our customized data services. For more information, please see our Customized data services page, or contact us.

1. Organizations data:

Selection of organizations on the basis of:

• country of secretariat, for example organizations whose main secretariat is located in Paris, or with regional offices in both New York and Bangkok
• countries in which members are located, for example organizations with members in Bolivia, or with members in both a Nordic country and in Australasia
• main fields of activity, for example organizations working in the field of health care, or working in the field of children's education in the Caribbean
• links with a specified organization, for example organizations who are members of your own federation, or who are cooperating with a specified IGO
• type of organization, for example federations of international organizations, organizations which are no longer active, or research institutes

Supplementary information which may be included on each organization selected:

• addresses: main secretariat, regional or secondary offices, websites
• foundation date and history
• aims
• structure
• finance
• staff
• languages used
• activities
• major events
• publications
• membership countries and organizations
• links with NGOs and/or IGOs

2. Meetings data:

Selection of meetings on the basis of: 

• the country or city in which the event was or will be held
• the subject or theme of the event
• the date or duration of the event
• the organizers
• or a combination of the above

3. Supplementary information which may be included on each meeting selected:

• the name of the event
• the theme
• the starting date and the closing date
• the city and country
• the number of participants expected
• name and address of the organizing body

4. Biographies of officers and other key figures in international organizations

5. Bibliographies of the major publications and information resources produced by international organizations

6. Statistics, analyses and graphic presentations based on the above data
